Katelyn's Recital 2010

After a whole year of Dance practice every Saturday, it was time for the big show! Katelyn is a ham as always and being on stage is what she loves:)

Hotel Living

This is our 2nd day at a hotel and the kids are really lovin it! We heard from a neighbor that our electricity came on sometime today but we are still staying tonight. Tomorrow is questionable since we have another storm headed our way tomorrow! Another 10-14 in for our area...I can't believe it! So the question is do we get back before the storm tomorrow and hope that we don't lose power or stay at the hotel until the next storm is over??? There is no school tomorrow either so I guess we'll have some time to figure it out! Today we lounged around, went to watch Alvin and Chipmunks, and walked around. Here are some more pics:)

Blizzard 2010

Sooo. we thought we were going to be watching lots of movies and drinking lots of hot chocolate BUT by 5am Saturday morning we had lost electricity and we still have no power yet. It was so cold after the first night (you could see our breath and the kiddos were wearing their winter hats and gloves) that we decided to find another place to stay. Pepco said that it would be a few days before things would be back to normal. We could not stay in the house another night and were able to get a room at a local hotel. There is nothing like being in a warm room and watching some TV. No cold food or 20 blankets to keep warm. This has definitely been an adventure and the kids never complained once. They seem to enjoy their time chasing after each other and driving mommy crazy! The only thing Katelyn was upset about is that we didn't get to spend much time in the snow. We are currently in a hotel room, kids playing, and daddy is catching up on some much needed zzzz's. At least we will be able to watch the Super Bowl tonight!

The snow storm begins...

Today everyone in the Washington region is in a frenzy. We are supposed to be getting about 18-24in of snow. Which means.....about 2-3 days of being snowed in with the kiddos. Katelyn is excited and she wants to know when she can go out and play in the snow. We will be watching lots of movies, playing lots of board games, drinking lots of hot chocolate, and trying to stay warm:) I took a few pics showing what's happening outside as well as a few pics of the kids enjoying our first snowed in treats...ice cream sandwiches...their favorite!!!

We have been really busy trying to get Christian interested in the potty. All of us have been helping...even Katelyn! We have a looooong way to go!
